Just a little about me:
First off, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, more commonly known as Mormons. I love this church with all my heart and soul, I have no idea where I would be without it. It has brought me so close to my Savior and my Heavenly Father, and I will be forever grateful to have that blessing in my life.
Second, I am in the process of working on my mission papers and I'll be submitting them in January! I can't even begin to describe how TOTALLY excited I am to serve God as a missionary for 18 months. I have been looking forward to this my whole life and it's finally happening! I can't wait to take the message of the Gospel to my brothers and sisters and share just how much it means to me. I want them to experience the same joy and happiness that I have felt. I currently have 67 days until I can turn in my papers! (Not that I'm counting or anything)
I LOVE music and I've played the violin since I was three. Well, I played before then, but that's when I officially started lessons. I cannot live without it! I love how it has the power to touch people in so many different ways and to change lives. After I get off of my mission, I will be majoring in violin performance at Brigham Young University. I am classically trained, and performed my orchestral debut at age 13. I also love fiddle and Celtic music!
Here's my TOTALLY non-classical music side:
Right after music comes dancing. I love to dance! In the dance studio, in the car while I'm driving, while I'm doing my homework, in my room.... you name it! I've been taking ballet classes since I was eight. Over the past few years, I've also become more involved with lyrical, modern, tap, ballroom, and lots of other styles. I've even combined my love for violin and my love for dance and come up with some pretty cool stuff!
Let's see, haha, what else..... I love to laugh and have a good time, I am pretty crazy, I like to work hard, I love hanging out with friends, I have naturally curly hair, I'm a violin teacher, I LOVE my family SO much, and I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking. I love how powerful a smile can be and how just smiling at someone can totally brighten their day. I am a Texan through and through and I wear my boots with Southern pride! Haha I can't wait to get up to BYU and show them off ;) (Yep, I have a slight problem with the whole Texas pride thing)
So why am I blogging anyway? I just wanted a place where I can share some of the experiences I'm having in my life and hopefully make someone smile. And maybe talk a little too much about how excited I am about life and going on a mission.... Haha I hope y'all enjoy! :D
